Feeling MEH...

I am so sick of the backward and forward...move forward a little on the scale then back again.  This is how it goes.  When I was on weight watchers and now Body by Vi.  Don't get me wrong...I love my shakes.  I am not giving them up.  They make me feel good.  Give me energy.  Curb the munchie attacks.   I know if I ate clean like some always say, I would probably be losing but I don't want to give up all the things I like.  But still everything in Moderation.  The BBV fb page was so helpful at first but now it seems like it is full of silly questions that should come with common sense and Food police.  Today's bit of tidbit was "if you want to lose weight stay away from dairy"  REALLY....I am suppose to give up cheese now.  NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.  I get reduced fat cheese already and now they want me to give it up.  They say give up diet soda and while yes I know that it isn't the best but I have 1 a day (most days).  it is my coffee.  So how would you coffee drinkers like it if I said "give it up"  Yes there is some good advice but mostly the same things are asked over and over and if they just looked at some archived questions or even did a search for it, you would find it.  Questions that are repeated are "how many calories should I eat"  "what is the best workout for me"  "how much water do I need to drink and how do I figure out what half my body weight in oz is"  "I have been on this for X amount of time and I haven't lost anything"  I am not going to lie....I have been on this for 90 days now.  I have lost 9 pound.  Not outstanding numbers but at the beginning i wasn't the greatest with it.  i was trying to do WW and BBV.  In the last week I have been counting calories.  Now this feat isn't easy.  Trying to figure out what I should be eating.  If I wasn't working out, it would be easy.  My BMR is 1288  (body metabolic rate)  But then you have to figure out fitness.  That is where I go wonky.  Some would say I am intense.  I think I am moderately active.  Yes some weeks I am intense but mostly moderate.  So according to that I should be eating 1900 calories but getting that in my head seems like a LOT.  So I am starting out at 1400-1600 calories.  (a good midway range)  If that won't work.  I will probably up it.  to 1500-1700.  But I won't up it until after my legs are done...I will have to cut back on my workouts when that is done.    One thing I noticed doing calorie counting is that I eat less veggies and fruits.  on WW they counted as zero...now they count for something.  I think if this coming week I don't lose anything I might do calorie but count fruits and veggies as zero and see if increasing them while keeping my reg calories the same will help

I also have to fight the be happy where I am at feeling.  I also need to fight the "I am sick of working out"  feeling.  It use to make me happy going to the gym but today was rough.  I didn't want to be there.  I didn't want to workout.  It don't help when my husband brings home pizza and chocolate and eats out more than me.  I need a vacation from thinking about food and exercise.  But I can't.  I have a company picnic to go to with dh on the 15th.  Then I was going to go "camping" with MiL  (I say camping loosely cuz we aren't really going to be in a tent)

Another thing is I am having RFA of my veins on the 30th.  I am scared and nervous.  I don't know what to expect or what the recovery is?  When I can get back to my regular gym schedule.  I am just freaked out

I don't know where I am going with this.   I will be at the gym tomorrow (water fitness) and the next day and the next day.  I will be counting my calories like a good girl.

Day One Detox Epic Fail

Ok really not that bad.  I didn't follow it to the tee.  I was doing good most of the day.  This is how my day was suppose to go and then I will (parenthesize what I did)

Breakfast
Shake made with 2 scoops vi powder, ice, strawberries, chia seed, coconut oil
(I made my shake but didn't do the coconut oil didn't have any yet)

Snack
1 cup Plain Greek yogurt with some honey and almond shaved
(I figured if I can have strawberries above why can't I have fat free greek yogurt with strawberries.  I had 10oz, I was out and about and one container was 5oz)

Lunch
Same as breakfast (I had this with coconut oil this time.  but it was soooo thick, i even forgo'd the ice this time.  I had to choke it down, it was just too thick)

Snack
avocado with lemon...(I don't like avocado unless it is in guacamole.  I had 2 Vi snack bites and some cauliflower/broccoli salad.  I also ate 2 hard boiled eggs,  I was cooking them and had to see if they were done...yoke wasn't so i just ate the whites...that should equal the avocado right)

Dinner
Same as above.  (I had an almond joy flavored shake.  I just can't have the strawberry.  which is strange cuz that was my go to shake but for some reason they are coming out toooo thick.)

now i should be done for the night but if i get hungry I might just steam some broccoli (it has to be eaten)

I worked out killer today.  Pump and elliptical.  I do miss my attack class though.  :(  but i still have Wednesdays class.

Body by Vi

I am sure some of you have heard about this product.  If not let me tell you a little bit about it.  It is a meal replacement shake.  But it is far different from anything like slim fast or protein powders.  It is the shake mix that tastes like a cake.  Yup that is right CAKE.  And there is so many recipes you can try.  Straight it tastes like vanilla cake...but add stuff to it (pudding powders and flavorings) and you have something MORE.  Almond Joy Shake, Snickers Shake, Butterfinger, strawberry cheese cake, rootbeer float.  You all know that there are times you just want a candy bar for breakfast.  Well now you can and it is good for you and full of nutrients and keeps you full, where a candy bar you will be hungry again not long after you eat it.  2 scoops of powder (what you use in your shake) is 90 calories.  Add in some light almond milk at 30 calories.  then a few add in and you are looking at under 300 calories for a meal.  You replace only 2 of your meals with this and then a sensible Lunch or dinner (or breakfast if you like.)  Just replace 2 and see the results.  It comes to about $2 per meal.  So before you look at the cost think about that break down.  Yes 2 bags will cost about $100 but you are not buying food for those 2 meals (well i guess if you have kids you are)  I know some people are so squeamish about it all.  But I have been reading success stories and it does work.  I broke my plateau on this shake.  I even got my husband to take it.  Even if you don't use it for meals, it is good for dessert option.  Tastes like a blizzard from DQ.  Kids can have it also.  Great for mornings when you are rushing.  If you have a kid who don't like to eat breakfast...make him/her a dessert breakfast that is good for you.   There are so many other things.  You can do the project 10 and if you loose 10# you get your name put in to possibly win $1000.  If you can get 3 friends to sign up (heck it is healthy and good for you so why not) you can get your shakes free.  Here is a link to the fact sheet   If you have any questions...feel free to email me Leah.  If you would like to order, visit my page Leah's Body By Vi  The best thing is they do have a 90 day guarantee ..so if it don't work then you are out nothing.  But if it does work, you will be amazed and want to share.   I am not a promoter so I don't get paid if you join.  I would just get the free if I get 3 and I would be grateful for that. If you want me to get you a sample I can do that too.  Just let me know.  Where do you know that you can have a snickers for a meal and still lose weight.  Edited to add.  that I have lost about 6# on these shakes (small number compared to some but remember I have been doing WW for 2 years now) tomorrow I am going to get measured again.  I will update you on that and see if I lost inches.  I think tomorrow I am going to attempt the Body by Vi Detox.   Wish me luck.

Long time no post

I know I kinda fell off the wagon a bit on posting.  I just don't like how blogger switched the layout of everything.  Still don't.

I have still been trucking a long.  I see my last post I talked about how I was 177.  Well I have been yo yo'ing all around.  Despite me still working out religiously (about 6 days a week) Adding a grueling Body Attack to the mix.  Watching what I eat (no bad me hasn't been logging food but I swear I have been good)   I have been stuck in the low 180's.  I know I am horrible with tracking food and taking my vitamins.  SO....I noticed my friend talking about something called Body by Vi shakes.  It is from a company called Visalus.  It is touted the shake that tastes like a cake.  I have always been iffy on meal replacement stuff.  You things like SlimFast and whey protein mixes.  They just scare me and seem like they wouldn't be very tasty.  So I got a sample from my friends sister and I tried.  Dude, it does taste like a cake.  Doing more searches online I found the recipes that use this shake are endless.   Who don't like eating strawberry cheesecake for breakfast and it being healthy for you?  YUM!  So I signed up.  I started my shakes.  I was only going to replace 1 meal cuz really, I didn't think I could do 2.  Surprisingly it wasn't too hard to do 2.  So now I am doing 2.  I always do a shake for breakfast but I do switch up my 2nd shake with lunch or dinner.  The first week on the shakes, I lost 2.7 pounds.  Now I have been perusing a support group and see people losing 7+ pounds the first week but that is their first week of food editing ( my new term  as it isn't a diet but an edit) and we all know that the first week is usually the biggest loss.  I have been food editing for 2 years so my loss wasn't that great, but still 2.7# after gaining for the last few weeks is AWESOME.   I am trying to get down as much as I can as my family is doing this biggest loser thing.  I have 2 weeks till final weigh in.

On the shakes I have more energy.  I don't have to remember my vitamins cuz they are in the shake.  The flavors are endless which is one of the downsides to most meal replacements shakes, you are stuck with the same 2-3 flavors.  Visalus has recipes..ones I have tried are Snickers, ButterFinger, OrangeJulius (not my fave) White chocolate Caramel Cappicino (yum), Strawberry Cheesecake (one of my faves) Girl Scout Samoya cookie, Cookies and Cream, Peanut Butter cup and Almond Joy.  But there is soooooo many more.  I tried one day to not have shakes cuz it was my splurge day but I felt awful.  I guess I will have to go easy on splurge.  I have even got dh having shakes.   The Shakes are pretty reasonable in cost.  A little over $100 for 2 bags that should last you a month.  Cost per shake is about $2 (slightly more depending what you mix it with, I do half almond milk and half skim milk) but you can do just water.

So I am going to try and keep posting and see where I go with this Body By Vi Shakes.  I am trying to lose 10# to start cuz I want the I Lost it Shirt.  I also would like to get down to at least 170 before I go in for my varicose vein treatment, because there is a few of my usual workouts that I am going to have to give up for a little bit (Body Attack, the squats and lunges and probably the back track in Body Pump.

Oh I also want to mention my bff and I are going to be doing the color run this summer.  how exciting.  We will probably run and walk it.
